Installation of the Rimionship Mod.md

Rimionship Mod

The Rimionship mod (for RimWorld) is used for the "Rimionship", a German tournament event. The following steps are necessary to install the mod correctly:

  • Alternative 1
  • Alternative 2
  • Common

📥 Alternative 1 - Steam Workshop

The Rimionship Mod will be available in the Workshop on Oktober 2nd, 2022 from midnight (UTC/GMT+2). Link to the workshop site: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2834585352

  • Click [Subscribe] on the workshop page

  • Make sure you have the Harmony mod. If not, subscribe to it as well

  • Continue wih the common steps below.

📥 Alternative 2 - Download manually

If the workshop site is not available or if you don't want to use Steam, you can download the mod from GitHub. Please notice that by doing so, the mod will not be updated automatically. Therefore, make sure you re-download the mod shortly before the tournament starts.

  • Download this zip file: https://github.com/pardeike/Rimionship/releases/latest/download/Rimionship.zip

  • Extract the zip file:

  • ⚠️ ATTENTION: Inside the Rimionship folder, you will find another Rimionship folder. Please use that inner Rimionship folder in the following steps!

  • Locating the RimWorld folder:

    • Start RimWorld

    • In the Windows task bar, right-click on the RimWorld icon

    • Then right-click on RimWorldWin64.exe and choose Properties
      image

    • Select the complete Pfad in the properties window and copy it
      image

    • Click on the search function in the Windows toolbar

    • Paste the path you copied into the search field and open the RimWorld folder by searching for the path

  • Copy the inner Rimionship folder into the Mods folder of the RimWorld folder

  • In case you don't have Harmony already: Repeat the process with the Harmony Mod and copy it the same way into the Mods folder: https://github.com/pardeike/HarmonyRimWorld/releases/latest/download/HarmonyRimWorld.zip

📥 Common - Complete the installation

  • Start RimWorld

  • Open the Modlist

  • In the mod list, mark Harmony and Rimionship with green checks and move Harmony to the top of the mod list

  • Restart RimWorld

  • Use the Rimionship mod to subscribe and auto-download the allowed list of mods:

  • Remove any unwanted mods
