This data was abstracted from the US Census Bureau's Data Exploreres Web Site. It contains socioeconomic data by year and state for the years 2019 to 2010. I found the book by F. Donnelly, Exploring the U.S. census: your guide to America’s data, Los Angeles: SAGE, 2020, to be very helpful in undestanding how to navigate the US Census data and search web site.
There is quite a bit of data in the census extracts and I paired it down to relevant columns for employment status, occupation, industry employed in, and percentage of familes below the poverty line. The columns contain persons counted by separate categories where the text in the columns describe the catagory names.
Attributes are
- Year is a categorical attribute and the year for the row
- id is the census geoid for the state and is categorical
- the rest of the attributes are quantitative. The columns quantify the population count of the state that for the columns category. The main areas are EMPLOYMENT
This data is my home electric energy consumption from the Natinoal Grid web site. If you have National Grid as your provider, you can download the data from their website It represent my electricity usage for three personal accounts at my residence. I live in a three family and occupy two of the floors. There is also a common meter that supplies electricity for the front and back hall lights and exterrior and basement outlets.
The data set shows electricy consumption for the past two years in both usage and cost. I have augmented the National Grid data with power that is generated by a community solar project that I am a member of. Power generated by solar a solar provider is applied to as "net metering credits" and shows up on the bill from National Grid as a credit dollar amount.
Arributes are:
- accountNumber - is the electric account number for the row
- readDate - is the date of the reading
- readDays - is the number of days since the last reading for the row
- readType - is it an estimated or ac
