Chromebits & Librato

These are setup instructions for graphs on TVs using Chromebits.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Attach the CHROMEBIT to a non-tv monitor that accepts HDMI (or convert HDMI to DVI).
  2. Put USB donglet on the CHROMEBIT
  3. Setup the wifi connection
  4. Login as Guest and wait for the clock to adjust itself (otherwise you can't login since that requires SSL and SSL requires a current clock)
  5. Logoff
  6. Login as your dashboards google account (You should make one like dashboards@yourdomain.com)
  7. Hit up your spaces URL https://metrics.librato.com/s/spaces
  8. Login, make sure that looks right.
  9. Install Keep Awake to disable power saving
  10. Install Super Auto Refresh
  11. Go back to Librato tab
  12. Click the refresh thing and set it to 60 minutes
  13. Click the keep awake thing to the "Sunny" setting
  14. Go to your Chromebit settings
  15. Set the Librato Space up as your default page
  16. Okay, now shut down the chromebit
  17. Connect it to your TV (If you try to provision with your TV, it won't work! :((((( )
  18. Login as dashboards
  19. You should see your dashboards!
