- Interview Prep:
- Pick a successful project and write about it with the STAR method (What was the situation/scenario of the project? What was the task/target of the project? What action steps did you take? What were the results?):
- My successful project would be the Rancid Tomatillo project. This project was centered around displaying movies and their specs to the viewer in a satisfying way. The target was to be able to filter through movies
- Write about a time you failed and what you learned from that experience:
- most recently I had been working on a personal project and found my biggest struggle was using and testing local storage. I learned how to better understand local storage and how to test it using Cypress.
- Write about how you've approached working with a team using a specific example:
- Working with a team I had found I typically take a leader role when no one else chooses to take the role. Working on my most recent group project (3 person project) I found my two partners were not comfortable making schedules or making hard decisions. I stood up, made schedules, handed out responsibilities, and being the project manager.
- What other stories will you prepare to share?
- how I handled a partner that did not want to participate or show up to work on the project and how I picked up the slack to help my team complete our project on time
- Do some research into your top companies' tech stacks; what do you already know? What can you compare to your own learning? What do you need to learn more about?
- I have seen a pattern of typescript being used in companies and have started to learn it in my personal time to better be prepared.
