  1. Assess your habits from week 1: how did you spend your time this past week? What was effective in your habits? What could be more effective? What steps will you take to make that happen?
  • I am happy to say I did well at starting my new habits. I made a point to write down my strengths and weaknesses which really helps me to further my self awareness. I would say I need to make more effort to going to bed on time.

  • I got into programming through my partner who showed me dev tools which allowed me to mess with the code to see how the smallest line of code can change the overall product. As an artist I thrive on creating things that bring enjoy to others. I found having the ability to affect positive change through software drives me. My "ah ha" realization of this new found love came when my coworker recieved a very negative review online. As someone who had no knowledge of programming, besides how to open dev tools, I was able to figure out how to turn the negative review into a five star one. This of course didnt change the review for others who googled our shop but my coworker was very happy to see how i had gone out of my way to make her feel better. This was my first interaction with the user side of programming, getting to see how my contribution can impact people is what drives me to better my skills and make technology more inclusive.

  • Creativity, Attention to Detail, Dedication, and Customer Satisfaction are all qualities I have come to develop and thrive in throughout my years as an artist. These qualities I bring into programming will help to ensure all applications are centered around user empathy making the web a more diverse and inclusive place. If these qualities are important to you and your company please reach out to hear more about how I plan to use these skills and how I became a programmer.
