Did you also get the an error saying "TypeError"?
Here is what I got as response back from the getPlaybackInfo()

TypeError: preprocessor() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given)

Update: Actually I got it working, was inappropriately calling netconnection method.
What I do realise is sometimes pi['auth'] does not contain anything.
