Pre-work Tasks- One Month Schedule

(Note: You will most likely only get to the following sections if you have more than a week for your pre-work. If you are doing the one week pre-work schedule, you may delete this section of the Gist.)

Task F- Learn Ruby
Option 1 Questions:

IRB
How do you start and stop irb?
To start type irb, to stop type exit
What might you use irb for? You use irb to use ruby interactively so the terminal can read it, you can test things, etc.

Variables
How do you create a variable? The structure would be: variable_name = value
What did you learn about the rules for naming variables? From the Ruby Style Guide, section Naming.
How do you change the value of a variable? Typing: variable_name = new value

**Datatypes
**How can you find out the class of a variable?*Typing .class right after the variable
What are two string methods? .downcase returns a string in lower case and .length returns the number of characters of a string
How can you change an integer to a string?
* Typing .to_i right after the variable

Strings
Why might you use double quotes instead of single quotes in Ruby? Because single quotes don't allow string interpolation
What is this used for in Ruby: #{}? The use of it is to embed a Ruby statement into another string
How would you remove all the vowels from a string? Typing .delete('aeiou') right after the string

Input & Output
What do 'print' and 'puts' do in Ruby? They do the same but puts displays the information in a new line and puts in the same line
What does 'gets' do in Ruby? It allows you to establish the answer or result after the user enters the answer to a previous order or question and press the enter key
Add a screenshot in the comments of the program you created that uses 'puts' and 'gets', and give it the title, "I/O".
