We're seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Back-End Developer to join our team. You'll work closely with @_pjkelly and @createbang in crafting some of the finest web applications and APIs on the web.
- Working collaboratively with our highly skilled development team to turn ideas into reality using high quality Ruby and JavaScript
- Participating in client meetings
- Meeting internal and client deadlines
- Keeping updated on new development methods and technologies
- Communicating effectively in both written and verbal interactions with the team and clients
- 3+ years programming experience
- Expertise in Ruby, JavaScript, MongoDB, Redis, MemCache, Mysql and Git
- Experienced in deploying and managing production applications
- Experience with Behavior/Test Driven Development and other Agile practices
- Experience working with clients directly (in person meetings, conference calls, email)
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once
- Have experience designing and building JSON APIs using Ruby
- Have experience building and provisioning servers on Amazon Web Services or other cloud provider
- Have expertise in other programming languages like Node, Python, Erlang, Scala, Objective-C, etc.
- Have managed your own studio or solo/freelance practice
- Have design sensibilities
- Can bring existing clients to the table who fit our ethos
- Live in NYC (not required)
