1st draft of community code of conduct for gomix

(this'll be public probably in a pinned forum post)

———————————

Community Code of Conduct

One day, we'll want to tell our grandkids that once upon a time we made Gomix and that it helped make the internet a more interesting, entertaining, helpful and humane place. Of course, we can only do this through you, the community we're working to empower.

To that end, we want to be proactive about ensuring that the Gomix community stays inclusive, friendly and creative.

What's Not Allowed?

Hopefully this is all pretty obvious:

  • Applications that are socially malicious to other people are not allowed. In addition to illegal content (by 🇺🇸 law), this includes stuff like intimidation, hate speech, spam, doxing and other forms of harassment. If you make an app that other people use to be abusive, you're responsible for your creation.

  • Technically malicious apps that purposely abuse our backend service are also not allowed. This includes bitcoin miners, malicious botnets, DDOS attack vectors and phishing schemes.

(If your app uses lots of resources because it becomes popular organically, that's awesome and you won't be shutdown.)

How to Report Something?

You've got a couple options to report offending apps:

  • You can post about it on this forum.
  • You can directly email support.

(Eventually, we want to have bug bounties and other cool security incentives for cool security people.)

What'll we do?

Once we get an abuse report, we'll manually look into it and if the behavior appears malicious in intent, we'll ban the offending app author and suspend their apps (and any remixes of those apps).

If it looks like the maliciousness was an unintentional mistake, we'll contact the author and work with them to resolve the situation.
