     signing up 

if you don't have an account, head to the sign-up page first: https://www.bomtoon.com/join/index


if you want to sign up manually using your email:

 field #1: email
 field #2: what you want as a password for your bomtoon account
 select all checkboxes & click the big pink/magenta box.

i personally just used my google account to sign-up since i use chrome. you also have the option to sign-up through facebook, naver or kakaotalk. to sign up with any of these 4, just click on the button with that logo on the sign-up page.
 age verification 

if you want to read any 19+ webtoons on bomtoon, you will need to manually verify your age. 


you need two things here:

 an official id (passport & driver's license would work. i don't think a student id would work but you could try?)
 you need to be 19+ as per the birthday on your id

and now we're going to use the fastest method to get age verified, the customer center.

 make sure you are logged in and then head to the customer service center: https://www.bomtoon.com/faq/index
 click on the 1:1 문의 option. in the drop-down menu, choose option #3 - it says "foreign adult certification" in english for that one.
 for the inquiry title, you can just use "해외 거주자 성인인증 요청" if you can't leave it blank.
 then attach a photo of your id to the inquiry (the only things they need to see on your id are your name, birthday, expiration date and what country/organization issued it. you can add black boxes to block out everything else)
 submit! 

they'll usually reply to your inquiry and you can check this by going back to the customer center. but generally you'll know if you've been successfully verified when you log in and the adult webtoons (the ones with a red 19 symbol on the cover) are visible to you.
 getting bomtoon coins 

you can get to the coins page by clicking on the 3 horizontal lines menu bar on the top right and clicking on 
OR you can just go there directly with this link: https://www.bomtoon.com/payment/payment_charge


choose the option you want. two things to keep in mind:

   payment is in korean won so check the exchange rate if needed
  
 chapters on bomtoon tend to be 3 coins each and they will be permanently in your account so you can read any time. for some stories, there's also an option to "rent" meaning you can view it for 48 hours for fewer coins (usually 1-2 coins).

once you have that chosen, scroll all the way down and now you're at the payment options. you have 2 choices here:

   foreign credit card which is called "해외 신용카드" (and directly to the left of the paypal option)
  
 paypal 

choose whichever works for you. then make sure you check all the checkboxes & hit the magenta button. it'll take you through the steps you need to go through. if you choose the foreign credit card option, the pop-up might be in korean at first but you can change the language by looking at the top right corner of the pop-up for the "English" option.
