Update email to community@ after 20220217 sig-community meeting
To: community@lists.operate-first.cloud
Subject: New SIG Community forms two WGs: Website Updates WG and Contrib_X Docs WG
Folks:
In today's SIG Community meeting we ratified our own charter, meaning we became officially official and could start doing things:
https://github.com/operate-first/community/blob/main/sig-community/charter.md
Now, I can't easily give you an operate-first.cloud link for that because we need to update the website information architecture and content. So today we formed the "Website Updates Working Group (WG)":
https://github.com/operate-first/community/issues/134
https://github.com/orgs/operate-first/projects/48
If you are interested in how the website is laid out, writing/editing/reviewing content, and creating the templates and processes used by SIGs, WGs, and subprojects, please join us. You can note your interest in a comment to the [tracking issue #134](https://github.com/operate-first/community/issues/134).
But to do any of this you need to understand how to contribute on GitHub, which includes knowing or learning the answer to the question of, "What is a 'git' and what is a 'hub'?" To work on building the documentation supporting the contributor ladder we formed the "Contrib_X Docs WG":
https://github.com/operate-first/community/issues/131
If you want to help improve the onboarding experience for new users and contributors, this WG is focusing on bringing people up the ramp. We'll identify and reference to existing external docs, and we'll identify and fill gaps for docs within our own project. You can note your interest in a comment to the [tracking issue #134](https://github.com/operate-first/community/issues/131).

Looks good Karsten, except the reference to issue 131 in line 21 says it is for issue 134. You were just checking to see if we read all the way to the end, weren't you? :-)

  • +1 for @hpdempsey link #131 and #134 got mixed up in line 21
  • is it my browser? I can't see below line 24. I can't see the link to "including our charer and meeting details, at this page:" in line 23? I guess it could be https://github.com/operate-first/community ?
