Please Rate The Show in iTunes

I am a huge podcast fan, and one of the things that podcasters always say would help them out the most is to rate the show in iTunes. So that is what I am going to do with some of my favorite shows over the next few weeks.

I will update this gist with each review and a link to the podcast. If you find this and write a review as well, feel free to comment below this gist.

Geek Friday artwork

I am a podcast NERD or is it GEEK, after 83 episodes I am still not sure. - 07/27/2013

Rating *****

I absolutely love this show. The combo of Faith and Jason make an excellent pairing to any Friday dinner (as long as you are fine spitting out your food or drink if you laugh too hard).

The long troll of Faith was an example of this pair at their best.

Any review wouldn't be complete without a venn diagram:

(ballet + movies ( geek ) dev + reddit )

<spoiler> The show is rarely taped on Fridays </spoiler>

The Incomparable artwork

Guest fervor for geeky media - and April Fools fun. - 08/01/2013

Rating *****

I am a geek who didn't grow up with much of the content covered by The Incomparable, but the fervor of the guests creates a warm environment for me to discover new media.

My favorite topics covered: Doctor Who, Sherlock, April Fools episodes, and Pixar.

No matter your geek interests, The Incomparable has something for you. Subscribe and discover what you have been missing or find a welcoming water cooler conversation.

Non-review feedback: During episode 150 of The Incomparable, one of the pieces of feedback was to have more people with dissenting opinions about a topic. That left me thinking, what is the intent/background for the show's title?

Ruby Rogues artwork

Water cooler filled with ruby goo - 08/06/2013

Rating *****

After a stint away, I am coming back to my former life as a developer with Ruby as my language of choice. Although the audio quality can sometime be a little rough the content is well refined.

The back catalog of episodes has given me vast resources to pull from for improving my development chops and allowed me to learn more about the Ruby language and community.

Thanks to the rogues and the guests for what you do.

Giant Robots Fusion - 08/10/2013

Rating *****

The information density of this podcast is high, probably due to the energy created by all the giant robots smashing into one another.

The audio quality is great, the guests are fun, the conversation flows, and I learn a lot about the people and their products (all in 30-45 minutes or 15 - 22.5 min if listening like a robot at 2x)

Thanks to Ben, Chad, Igor and the rest of the thoughtbot crew on this fun podcast that makes learning about Ruby and Rails more fun each and every week.

Wide Teams artwork

Remote workers and distributed teams find inspiration - 08/19/2013

Rating *****

With changes in life, I became a remote worker.

Avdi interviews people who are working and have worked in distributed teams and as remote workers. Listening to episodes you get a feel for many workflows and recommendations.

Thanks!
