If you (or someone you know) are enrolled in Medicare Part B and you haven&#8217;t received a pair of shoes in 2014, time is running out!</p>\n<p><strong>Who&#8217;s eligible?</strong><br />\nAll people with Medicare who have diabetes and severe diabetic foot disease are covered. Your Weil Foot &amp; Ankle Institute podiatric physician must certify that you need therapeutic shoes or inserts and then prescribe the items for you.</p>\n<p><strong>Your costs in original Medicare</strong><br />\nWeil Foot and Ankle Institute is enrolled in Medicare, which is important because Medicare will only cover your therapeutic shoes or inserts if your doctor or supplier is enrolled in Medicare.</p>\n<p>If a shoe supplier doesn&#8217;t accept assignment, Medicare doesn&#8217;t limit how much the supplier can charge you. You may also have to pay the entire bill (your share and Medicare&#8217;s share) at the time you get the shoes.</p>\n<p><strong>Cost of shoes</strong><br />\nTo find out how much your shoes will cost, talk to your Weil Foot &amp; Ankle Institute podiatric physician. The specific amount you will owe may depend on several things, such as other insurance you may have or whether you have met your yearly deductible.
