Interview Questions

Kotlin

Q1: What is a primary constructor in Kotlin? ☆☆

Answer: The primary constructor is part of the class header. Unlike Java, you don't need to declare a constructor in the body of the class. Here's an example:

A couple of classes (and an interface!) to make it easier to adapt to the audio focus changes that were introduced in Android Oreo.

Animated Stroke. The google I/O website this year (https://google.com/io) has some funky animated lettering. I especially liked the animated stroke around the letters and wondered how you might implement that on Android. Turns out that AnimatedVectorDrawable makes this very easy! Here's how it looks: https://twitter.com/crafty/status/71077957997…

How base colors in Lollipop apply to different UI elements
Unless specified otherwise, all of the below tinting applies to both Lollipop and pre-Lollipop using AppCompat v21. To use the support version of these attributes, remove the android namespace. For instance, "android:colorControlNormal" becomes "colorControlNormal". These attributes will be propagated to their corresponding attributes within the android namespace for devices running Lollipop. Any exceptions to this will be noted by including the "android:" prefix.
