Cloudflare Wrangler

Tips setup wrangler project, berguna jika kita mau integrasi ke project yang sudah ada.

  • Install wrangler globally dengan npm install --location global wrangler.

  • Lalu create directory untuk project nya, misal: mkdir /tmp/x1 && cd /tmp/x1.

  • Init project dengan pnpm: pnpm init.

  • Tambahkan TS: pnpm install --save-dev typescript@latest.

  • Tambahkan vitest: pnpm install --save-dev vitest@latest.

  • Initialisasi tsconfig.json: pnpm exec tsc --init.

  • Init wrangler: wrangler init. Perhatikan yang kita isi pada cli prompt adalah sbb:

...install wrangler into package.json?  --> yes
...install the type definitions for Workers.. --> yes
...create a Worker at src/index.ts? --> Fetch handler
...write your first test with Vitest? --> yes
  • Cek apakah semuanya oke dengan: pnpm exec vitest run.

Berikut ini adalah package.json script standar init wrangler:

Wrangler mendukung conditional exports field di package.json.

Apa itu conditional export?

Sebagai contoh, Berikut ini contoh paket pustaka npm yang provide modul format yang berbeda antara kita gunakan dengan require atau dengan import. Jika ada key workerd, maka modul ini yang akan digunakan oleh wrangler.

Jadi secara umum, paket-paket pustaka npm yang populer sudah mendukung untuk digunakan secara benar oleh wrangler.

Berikut ini system environment variables yang dibaca oleh wrangler:

- CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN
- CLOUDFLARE_API_KEY
- CLOUDFLARE_EMAIL
- WRANGLER_SEND_METRICS
- CLOUDFLARE_API_BASE_URL
- WRANGLER_LOG

Cara mengeset environment varible ini seperti biasa, yaitu dengan membuat file .env atau via export di shell atau pada saat pemanggilan (misal: WRANGLER_LOG=debug wrangler publish ...).
