2021 Update: Easiest option is Justin's repo and image

Just run this from your Mac terminal and it'll drop you in a container with full permissions on the Docker VM. This also works for Docker for Windows for getting in Moby Linux VM (doesn't work for Windows Containers).

NORMAL MODE

Vim has 2 main "modes", that chance the behavior of all your keys. The default mode of Vim is Normal Mode and is mostly used for moving the cursor and navigating the current file.

Some important (or longer) commands begin with ":" and you will see the text you enter next at the bottom left of the screen.

:q[uit] - quit (the current window of) Vim. ("Window" here is internal to Vim, not if you have multiple OS-level windows of Vim open at once.)
:q! - force quit (if the current buffer has been changed since the last save)
:e[dit] {filename} - read file {filename} into a new buffer.

Convert a PEM based file to JSON

This snippet will convert a PEM based certificate of key to JSON format. This is useful when having to embed a certificate in a JSON object.

It will simply add \n in the required places.

Compile Go for Apple Silicon (M1)

Follow these short instructions on how to compile Go for Apple Silicon (M1). From here on out, we may simply refer to it as the "ARM device".

This entire process should only take about 5-10 minutes, but please read through everything carefully, in order to avoid any potential issues along the way.

Note that at the time of writing this, Go was not yet officially available for Apple's ARM.
