I was part of the small group (wearing suits even, when in Brentwood, dress like the Brentwoodians, I suppose) who went to Wilson and Associates' attorneys offices to deliver a letter asking them to reconsider supporting Chase's efforts to foreclose on a 78-year-old civil rights activist. Chase's chosen alternative to working with Miss Bailey is to lose $20K-$30K by taking the property to a foreclosure auction.
We made no secret that we were coming to deliver a letter. They refused to open the door to their reception office when we knocked, repeatedly. Then the UPS delivery man wheeled his cart out and we let him through, only to find there had been people hiding (literally hiding) behind the door to shove it closed immediately behind him.
After that they refused to open, to answer their phones, and ultimately called security and police to have us leave the premises (we were as peaceful and quiet as it comes, for the record -- film forthcoming). We tried to slide our letter under the door and it was blocked by someone kneeling on the other side, and ultimately rejected (film also forthcoming, and numerous witnesses in the hallway).
These big bad foreclosure attorneys talk a big game when it's only a 78-year-old North Nashville lady homeowner on the other end of their calls, letters, and faxes. When the 99% comes to THEIR house they're nothing but a bunch of cowards. I've really never seen anything like it. Morally bankrupt and scared to be called on their actions -- just like the banks they represent.
That's why we're foreclosing on THEM! We are the 99%!
