Here's the skinny -- Ali and I went to a meditation course (my 3rd, her 2nd) this past week and I came home on the 3rd day and she's staying. I'll pick her up on "day 11" (Sunday) at the center and we'll go hang out somewhere probably (maybe even the beach!).
Short version -- due to long-standing medical things (nothing more glamorous than acid reflux), and various complicated bits about how the body and mind react during meditation, I went mostly sleepless for 5 days on my first course, slept 7 hours over the last 7 days of my second course (but made it through to huge benefits!), and realized that I was going to end up probably spending 9 sleepless days on this most recent course.
And, well, I just don't actually have it in me. There have to be ways to do what I feel I want and need to do personal development-wise, without tackling that specific hurdle head-on this week. So I'm home, I'm all good, Ali's all good, if anything of interest happens I will know immediately and everything will be fine. I'm just home early and getting back into the swing of things.
