Kava Tea Recipe

A preparation method for a tasty cup of kava, a traditional Polynesian tea

Preparation time

~20 minutes

Ingredients

• 1/3 cups ground kava, e.g., Fijian Waka kava
• 3/4 cups water
• 1/4 cup rice or soy milk
• Vanilla extract (to taste)
• Simple syrup (to taste)

Steps

1. Combine kava, water, and milk in a jar
2. Shake vigorously for 15 minutes, or blend for 5
3. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheese cloth
4. Add vanilla extract and simple syrup to taste

Extra Strength Variation

After mixing in step 2, let mixture soak for 1-2 hours.
