A preparation method for a tasty cup of kava, a traditional Polynesian tea

- 1/3 cups ground kava, e.g., Fijian Waka kava
- 3/4 cups water
- 1/4 cup rice or soy milk
- Vanilla extract (to taste)
- Simple syrup (to taste)
- Combine kava, water, and milk in a jar
- Shake vigorously for 15 minutes, or blend for 5
- Strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheese cloth
- Add vanilla extract and simple syrup to taste
After mixing in step 2, let mixture soak for 1-2 hours.
