My thoughts after watching the entire 12 minutes of "Child's Play" by Drake.

His (ex) girlfriend looks immaculate. He doesn't deserve her. He comes across as an asshole in his own video -- why did he write this? Does he think we'll think he's cool if he's cheating on his anniversary? He left his phone unlocked on the table while he left? Does that mean he was playing with his phone during their anniversary dinner?

(Rus thinks the fact that she's much too good for him is the point, and that he's bragging about how terrible he is.)

Who the fuck takes their girl to Cheesecake Factory for their anniversary?

Is he making fun of people who are so poor that they go to Cheesecake Factory? Just because he's a millionaire?

The entire first verse of the song appears to be just him describing the scene we just watched with him.

What city skyline is this that we are so lovingly floating above? It's unrecognizable, like a generic American city with no landmarks. Is it CG?

Did Drake celebrate his breakup at a strip club?

Is Drake literally so cheap that he throws one dollar bills at girls that talented? Unless I'm mistaken, he has seen the menu at a Cheesecake Factory in the past few hours, so he knows exactly how many servings of mashed potato he's tipping them.

Drake looks like the most awkward member of his friend group, by an order of magnitude. Even the guy who just nods while carressing his necklace looks cooler and more natural than Drake, awkwardly nodding and lip-syncing to his own song. If we're supposed to believe that he's cool enough to have these friends and this car, he's not pulling it off at all.

The song is actually good. I wish it had a chorus or anything, and was longer than 90 seconds. But it's clearly a downtempo/EDM song that he's emoting over, and it's a good downtempo/EDM song.

I wanted to like Drake, but he comes across as authentic as that fake-ass skyline.
