Hunter was closing on a Procurer mining in QBL-BV. At first he landed some way off, then bounced. Apparently there had also been a Domi on grid and had been waiting for him to come back, but he didn't show.

Hunter grabs point, cyno up and I jump. Instantly there are Manticores on grid and bombs in the air. I had already MJD'd of course, but there wasn't enough time :rip:

So... should I have fit tank onto my blops or not? Well, this character is really badly skilled - very little in the way of support or fitting skills. I've been training them for the last two weeks. A few days ago I removed the DCU for extra alpha. This was probably a mistake. My pod got out in low structure, meaning they launched at least two more bombs.

I ran the numbers in Pyfa and I would not have tanked the remaining two bombs even with a DCU fitted. However this is not an excuse - I have never encountered a bombing wave on a Procurer like that before, and I struggle to think of any indication that I could have had that it was a trap. Ironically if I had not MJD'd on landing I might have survived (idk exactly what math CCP uses). Lessons learned!

In the end I'm only upset about dropping faction loot for Provi. That really disgusts me. Otherwise, the blops is already replaced and I'll be returning to bridging as soon as I can be bothered to get the modules. Meanwhile, I'm training fitting skills so I'll be able to train this fit, which should tank a wave of bombs. They will surely try this trick again and it'll be difficult to counter, except through tanking it.
