Installing the Pebble app on iOS with Sideloadly

Looking for download links? Go to the end of the guide (See downloads below)!

The Pebble app is no longer on the App Store.

No worries! If you have an Apple ID, you can install the app yourself!

Please note that you have to do this every 7 days for the app to keep working.

If you don't redo the process after a week, your Pebble will still receive notifications.

(written by robonxt, last updated on June 6, 2022)

What we are going to do:

  1. Install Sideloadly on the computer
  2. Download Pebble IPA
  3. Use Sideloadly to sideload the Pebble IPA file onto the iOS device

Requirements:

  • Apple ID (Apple ID account)
  • Computer (Windows 10, or macOS 10.14 and higher) with internet access
  • iOS device (iOS 7 or higher) with internet access
  • Cable for iOS device
  • (Optional) Latest iCloud and iTunes installed

Before starting:

  • Read this guide carefully!
  • Make sure that...
    • Computer is connected to the internet
    • iOS device is connected to the internet
    • iOS device is not connected to the computer

[INFORMATION BOXES] If you see this, then it is important!

Installation:

  1. Download the appropriate Pebble IPA on your computer.

    [IMPORTANT] If you have a...

  2. Download and install Sideloadly on your computer.
  3. Connect your iOS device. There may be a popup on the iOS device asking to trust the computer, press Allow.
  4. Run Sideloadly. At some point, there will be a popup that asks for your Apple ID. Enter your email and password.

[INFO]: Depending on your device, you may need to go into Advanced Options and tick the appropriate boxes.

  5. Click on the IPA icon. Select the Pebble IPA you downloaded in step #1. Press "Start".

[INFO]: Make sure your device is showing in the dropdown list named "iDevice" before pressing "Start"!

  6. The Pebble app is now installed. If "Untrusted Developer" pops up, simply go to the Settings app > General > Device Management > (your Apple ID email) and click on "Trust (your Apple ID email)" The Pebble app should now have a "Verified" on that same settings page.
  7. Go to the Rebble website and create a Rebble account (or sign in if you already have one).
  8. Click the "Switch to Rebble" button.
  9. Redo steps 3-6 every week.
  10. Profit!

Help:

  • If you have sideloading issues, try installing the latest iTunes and iCloud before starting the process.

For Windows users: DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE MICROSOFT STORE VERSION. Download and install from Apple's website.

  • If the app does not start, go to the Settings app > General > Device Management > (your Apple ID email). The Pebble app should now have a "Verified" status. If not, repeat steps 3-6.
  • If Sideloadly does not work for you, try using AltStore*.
*may be added in a future guide update

Will AltStore not work?

Altstore will work if you know how to use it. This guide is only for Sideloadly, but a Altstore guide is in the making.

Make sure you are using the 64-bit ipa file. If it still doesn't work, please join the rebble discord, there is a ipa file that people reported to be working (I haven't added to the guide yet)

Hi! I can't sign in to my apple id, Sideloadly says:

Got error: Login failed (-36607): Unable to sign you in to your Apple ID. Try again later.
Retrying with alt Anisette
ERROR: Guru Meditation f8880e@244:3aea77 Login failed (-36607): Unable to sign you in to your Apple ID. Try again later.

My e-mail and password is correct. What am I missing here?

Thanks for the help!

@spinantone like what the error says, Sideloadly is having issues signing the app. Please try again later, like in 15 or 30 minutes, or a day. Either Apple or Sideloadly may be having some server issues.

Thanks! But this is not my first try, maybe the third (on different dates) and always getting this.

@spinantone as mentioned, this is a Sideloadly and/or Apple issue. I'd recommend looking at Sideloadly 's FAQ for more details and contact. If you want to try another way, you can use Altstore. It's like Sideloadly.

Hi.
Shortcuts app would be helpful.
Select Pebble app in Open app.
Then Pebble app will appear on Home Screen.

Settings to get the app working in iOS 16.2

Enable Sideloaded app: Settings >> General >> VPN & Device Management >> click your Apple ID you signed with Sideloadly >> Select "Trust"

Turn on Developer Mode: Settings >> Privacy & Security >> Developer Mode

If your sideloaded app hasn't appeared at this point you can restart your phone. This worked for me so I didn't have to use the shortcut trick earlier in this thread.

Thanks for this! I'll update the guide, someday 🤣

Just for those who are wondering why this guide isn't being updated, it's because Rebble made their own official guide based on this, so please do check it out on their website at help.rebble.io/sideload-ios-app!

today i tried to install the Pebble app with iOS 13.3 using sideloadly as usual which in the process (had to enter the apple id password) probably led to apple considering this a security risk. i had to reset my apple id password. did anyone have the same problem?

Apple does that sometimes to make sure that the user is really the user, and the application is what the user actually is using. Otherwise, there is no issues with using Sideloadly or Altstore. You may want to check to see if your Apple ID is signed in somewhere else other than your device, computer, and Sideloadly

well, i followed your advice. unfortunately, i had to go through the whole loop again afterwards and re-register all devices as well as renew the app-specific passwords. quite annoying. here is the error message provided by sideloadly:

I would suggest you to raise the issue with Sideloadly instead. You can read their FAQ here: https://sideloadly.io/#faq. If you still have an issue, I would recommend you to contact Sideloadly.

Having the same problem with you @pascii-pixelzauberer . Worst is if your Apple ID is linked with Apple Developer Program or Apple Enterprise, you may not even use it. So for best ready, use a brand new Apple ID.
