Translators’ Resources for Mandarin (Taiwan)

Rewritten draft.

Very much appreciated for your interest of the project! As the source code updates frequently, it’s great to see new collaborators coming up with timely contributions to keep the project moving. Thank you for being here.

On the other hand, please try to follow the established principles when you translate: many of the new strings are similar to the existing ones, while the translation of specific terms has already been agreed upon. Here are some authoritative sources you may utilize during your contribution:

In short, please reuse older translations when you can! They are constantly checked to make sure the same word is used consistently across the application. Reusing them could lighten the load for the maintainers. You’re still free to make your own take if needed to — just make sure they are natural, understandable, using words of Taiwan origin (instead of Hong Kong or other Mandarin sources), and accurately translated. You may also file issues and tag the maintainers for further discussion, and we’ll do the best to help you out on the issue.

Last but not least, welcome aboard! I hope this letter could aid you on your contribution to the FOSS community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you wish to chat!

Cheers.
