Global gitignore

There are certain files created by particular editors, IDEs, operating systems, etc., that do not belong in a repository. But adding system-specific files to the repo's .gitignore is considered a poor practice. This file should only exclude files and directories that are a part of the package that should not be versioned (such as the node_modules directory) as well as files that are generated (and regenerated) as artifacts of a build process.

All other files should be in your own global gitignore file:

  • Create a file called .gitignore in your home directory and add any filepath patterns you want to ignore.
  • Tell git where your global gitignore file is.

Note: The specific name and path you choose aren't important as long as you configure git to find it, as shown below. You could substitute .config/git/ignore for .gitignore in your home directory, if you prefer.

Git Subtree basics

Git Subtree Basics

If you hate git submodule, then you may want to give git subtree a try.

Background

When you want to use a subtree, you add the subtree to an existing repository where the subtree is a reference to another repository url and branch/tag. This add command adds all the code and files into the main repository locally; it's not just a reference to a remote repo.

When you stage and commit files for the main repo, it will add all of the remote files in the same operation. The subtree checkout will pull all the files in one pass, so there is no need to try and connect to another repo to get the portion of subtree files, because they were already included in the main repo.

Adding a subtree

Let's say you already have a git repository with at least one commit. You can add another repository into this respository like this:

// This injects a box into the page that moves with the mouse;
// Useful for debugging
async function installMouseHelper(page) {
await page.evaluateOnNewDocument(() => {
// Install mouse helper only for top-level frame.
if (window !== window.parent)
return;
window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', () => {
const box = document.createElement('puppeteer-mouse-pointer');
const styleElement = document.createElement('style');

Download Blockly.Workspace as SVG or PNG file
import Blockly from 'blockly';
declare interface CustomNode extends Node {
removeAttribute(arg0: string);
}
const DOMURL = window.URL || window.webkitURL;
const getSvgBlob = (workspace: Blockly.WorkspaceSvg) => {
const canvas = workspace.svgBlockCanvas_.cloneNode(true) as CustomNode;
