Today is finally the day! Rails Girls 2015 will be officially be set in motion tonight at 7pm.

Everything you need to know is on the Rails Girls LA website http://railsgirls.com/la

Don't forget you computer, your power cord, maybe an extension cord, maybe a bottle of water.

Please do not be late. All the organizers and coaches are donating their time to help you so please be respectful of their time and be super nice and thankful to them. :) This is why the Rails community is so awesome; because people want to help other people and all be happy coding together. :)

Location and Parking: http://railsgirls.com/la#location

The workshop is being sponsored by and hosted at:

http://railsgirls.com/la#location Spokeo 199 S Los Robles Ave. Pasadena, CA 91101

Park in the base of the building. It’s free to park here during the workshop. :) Go to the lobby and sign in. Spokeo's office is on the 7th floor.

If you feel like trying to install Rails, et cetera, before the install-fest you can try it out: http://guides.railsgirls.com/install/

Windows users, it can be a huge pain in the butt. Don't worry, we will help you at install-fest.

Even if you have installed you need a coach to check out your configuration but it may help you have a shorter process to get checked in.

Here are a few other things you will need: Get a Text Editor (A text editor is what you will use to write your code. Sublime is probably your best option to get started. It's Free too. A real text editor won't add any extra code to what you write, like if you used a Word.doc. Ask a coach about what this means. Or read this.)

These are some of your options.

Sublime, Komodo Edit, Gedit, Vim Notepad++ Emacs Install Git (Git is your local version control. This means it saves a copy of what you have done so if you make a mistake you can go back.) Create a Github Account (Git is your remote version control in the cloud.) Create a Heroku Account (This the server for your web app.)

P.S. - Don't forget your passwords :) and be sure to add a photo to your GitHub profile.
