Found this gist via DuckDuckGo. Got a simlar mail from another publisher of the same group. It contained the wrong academic title in the salutation, the wrong institution and citing an article I didn't write. Since they claim to have their headquaters in the city I studied, I digged a little bit deeper.
It seems that on all web pages of that group share the same address and fax number and no phone number. I've checked the whois for two of their domains and they're hosted at some mass hoster (Schlund) and the given phone number there is only a mobile phone number.
To me this looks like a well-done spam wave of a network of very small companies which try to look big.
