Server Monitoring Script

You may need to monitor server with the help of your server administrator and check domain access logs at the time of load spike to analyze further.

You can try this system monitoring script which records detailed logs of resource usage and process activity. Please use the following commands to install:
wget -O /root/sys-snap.pl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cPanelTechs/SysSnapv2/master/sys-snap.pl
cd /root/ && chmod 744 sys-snap.pl && perl sys-snap.pl --start

The script connects data from the following places:
/proc/loadavg
/proc/meminfo
vmstat 1 10
ps auwwxf
netstat -anp
mysqladmin proc
localhost/whm-server-status
http://localhost/server-status
lsof

The script creates log files at "/root/system-snapshot/". There is a directory for each hour, and a log for each minute. The most recent log file has a symbolic link to "/root/system-snapshot/current". If you need to stop the script, you can do so with this command:

perl /root/sys-snap.pl --stop

If you need to start the script again, such as after a reboot, use this command:

perl /root/sys-snap.pl --start

Run the following command to Check whether it is running or not
ps aux | grep snap

root@tango [/home]# ps aux | grep snap
root 30472 0.0 0.0 131624 4644 ? Ss 10:04 0:03 perl /root/sys-snap.pl --start
root 30502 0.0 0.0 131624 4644 ? Ss 10:04 0:02 perl /root/sys-snap.pl --start


Set a Cron to remove old log files from /root/system-snapshot/

Download the script
cd /usr/local/src/
wget http://94.247.100.142/clearsnapshots.sh

set a cron to run every week
0 1 * * 6 /bin/sh /usr/local/src/clearsnapshots.sh
