Discord is now slowly rolling out the ability to send colored messages within code blocks. It uses the ANSI color codes, so if you've tried to print colored text in your terminal or console with Python or other languages then it will be easy for you.
To be able to send a colored text, you need to use the ansi
language for your code block and provide a prefix of this format before writing your text:
\u001b[{format};{color}m
\u001b
is the unicode escape for ESCAPE/ESC, meant to be used in the source of your bot (see ). If you wish to send colored text without using your bot you need to copy the character from the website.
A video is available that introduces Arch Linux and covers OS configuration steps if you would prefer that format:
Arch Linux: Base Install in Virtual Machine
I used the following references to learn how to install Arch Linux in a virtual machine:
This is a collection of the tweaks and modification I've made to my Arch Linux installation over the months. These may be applicable to other distros, but please check first before doing anything. I also included Arch Wiki references for all the procedures I mentioned. My recommendation is not to blindly follow this gist but to always check with the Arch Linux wiki first. Things move fast and by the time you're reading this my gist may be out of date. Lastly, the golden rule: never execute a command you don't understand.
My current DE of choice is KDE's Plasma. I find it just about perfect.
There are various ways to install it on Arch. The most popular one is to install plasma
and plasma-applications
, but I don't like doing that because it comes with too many programs I'll never use. I, instead, install the base plasma
group, remove the few extra packages that come with it, then I finish off by installing a few KDE apps that don't come with th
The steps I took to dual boot Arch Linux alongside the preinstalled Windows 10 that came with my new Lenovo Ideapad. I used Ubuntu exclusively for the last 6 years so I'm Window's illiterate. I don't know a whole lot about the inner workings of Linux either.
Prepare the preinstalled Windows to share the system.
Want to inject some flavor into your everyday text chat? You're in luck! Discord uses Markdown, a simple plain text formatting system that'll help you make your sentences stand out. Here's how to do it! Just add a few characters before & after your desired text to change your text! I'll show you some examples...
