Getting Started

These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes. See deployment for notes on how to deploy the project on a live system.

Prerequisites

What things you need to install the software and how to install them.

$ use shell examples

Dev Install

A step by step series of examples that explain how to get a development environment installed and running.

Briefly explain what the step will be:

# a root shell example

And repeat...

$ run commands until finished

End with an example of getting some data out of the system or using it for a little demo.

Testing and Test Runners

Explain what test runners are required and how to run the tests for this system.

Test Environment and Test Data

Explain what the tests do and what the test data and/or test environment requirements are for running the tests.

$ run a test command

Standards and Coding Style

Explain what coding standards are applicable to the project and any tools used to check standards conformance as part of the test suite.

Contributing

When contributing to this repository, please first discuss the change you wish to make via issue, email, or any other method with the owners of this repository before making a change.

Please note we have a code of conduct, please follow it in all your interactions with the project.

Pull Request Process

  1. Ensure any install or build dependencies are removed before the end of the layer when doing a build.
  2. Update the README file with details of changes to the interface, this includes new environment variables, exposed ports, useful file locations and container parameters.
  3. Increase the version numbers in any example files and the README to the new version that this Pull Request would represent. The versioning scheme we use is SemVer.
  4. You may merge the Pull Request in once you have the sign-off of two other developers, or if you do not have permission to do that, you may request the second reviewer to merge it for you.
