Here's what I carry in a Tom Bihn Synapse 19 bag when I travel for 1-to-n days. In general, I optimize for low-weight items, with a secondary focus on reducing maintenance. You can peruse a gallery of pictures, too.
- Store clothes in Eagle Creek Quarter-Cube
- Wear a Tri-blend Crewneck Track T-Shirt
- If it's chilly, I put on the lightweight Arcteryx Rico Jacket; it's light and very warm for the weight
- Put Darn Tough Men's Merino Wool No-Show Light Cushion Athletic Socks on your feet
- I wear these unmentionables, but YMMV ExOfficio Men's Boxer Brief
- Use a 4L Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Sack to do laundry in. Pack clothes, add soap & hot water, and agitate aggressively. The dry sack is very light and can take a beating while preventing water from leaking out
- Oh, and for laundry detergent, use a grater and store shavings of Dr. Bronner's Castile Bar Soap
- Oh, and store the detergent in a Nalgene leak-proof travel jar
- I'm all-in on Apple, and that starts with the iPhone X; it's currently in a Leather Case, but I'll probably switch to a Peel case for the lighter weight
- Unless I'm giving a conference presentation, I travel with a 10.5" iPad Pro, which I've written about working on
- Sometimes I carry a Nintendo Switch, but that necessitates bringing a USB-A-to-C power cable, too
- While I wait for a decent multi-port USB-C charger to exist, I carry a Anker PowerCore Fusion 5000 charger, which charges my phone, iPad, and Apple Watch while doubling as a portable battery
- Like clothes, I also store toiletries in a Eagle Creek Quarter-Cube
- Carry the half-height Dental Aesthetics Orthodontic Travel Toothbrush
- They're hard to find, but TSA-compliant 2.8oz toothpaste tubes last a lot longer than the frustratingly tiny trial size tubes most people travel with
- Use the solid 1.5oz Crystal Deodorant Travel Stick
- Store mouthwash in the medium-size Nalgene Round Leakproof Travel Bottles
- To stay hydrated, I try to keep my collapsable HydraPak Stash Water Bottle full
@searls What, if any, other shirts did you try before you settled on the American Apparel shirt? Thanks!
