Pigeon peas

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans peas
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 can cubed pumpkin (fresh is better)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 pack bacon
  • ketchup (or other sugar)
  • pepper sauce (or other pepper)
  • Worcester sauce (for browning)

Directions

  • Chop onion and bacon, cube pumpkin
  • In a large pot, add all to peas
  • Bring to boil, then turn down and simmer
  • Stir occasionally till everything soft (1-2 hours)
  • Allow water to boil off until mixture is thick, like mac & cheese

Final result should resemble:
