Scientists embed with Uber’s various engineering initiatives to help them solve advanced quantitative issues. Whether it’s building the pricing recommendation engine inside of Uber’s dynamic pricing product, traffic and routing, or detecting fraudulent behavior, Scientists have the opportunity to tackle some of Uber’s most fascinating and challenging problems.

The Data Science/Analytics team helps navigate Airbnb through uncharted waters. We turn hard data into useful insights and compelling stories. From optimising our site to guiding on-the-ground operations, we love to challenge conventional wisdom, use information to build awesome visualisations, and develop effective solutions for teams around the world. If you love bringing creative flair to complex challenges, and you’re pretty handy with cutting code, the A-Team wants to talk with YOU.

We are adding an additional member to our science team. Our ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or some similar degree program. Graduate work in machine learning, natural language processing, applied statistics of social network analysis is highly desired. Experience with Python and Hadoop is required. Please provide a coding sample (Github username will suffice).

Our product scientists mine our data for intelligence, insights, and ideas, challenging received wisdom and building hypotheses to improve the experience of Medium’s writers and readers. They partner with teams across the company (engineering, design, business operations) to understand their analytics needs and answer questions with data. They also work with an outstanding team of engineers to iteratively build reporting tools and visualizations that inform product decisions at Medium. Knowledge sharing is important to us at Medium, so writing, sharing, and presenting findings and recommendations effectively, is an important part of this role.

Make it up!

As a Twitter Data Scientist specializing in analysis, you will use statistical analysis and data mining techniques to better understand how users engage with Twitter, participate in creation and measurement of new and experimental features, and define meaningful success metrics for Twitter products. You should be passionate about finding insights in data and using quantitative analysis to answer complex questions. You should have a strong background in statistics and data analysis. Experience in modeling, machine learning, and working with large datasets is a plus.

As a Data Scientist/Engineer at Databricks you will prototype, design, build, and launch production data products. You will also perform exploratory data modeling and analysis. As an early team member you will help shape the direction of the team. You will use a variety of tools, including the Databricks Cloud itself, and techniques to analyze Databricks Cloud usage data.

Data Scientists analyze PlaceIQ hyperlocal data sources to develop accurate predictions of audience and behavior. A mixture of analytical approaches are employed including raw data mining, data visualization, application of rules and heuristics and supervised / unsupervised machine learning techniques.

We have branched out behind our core data mining competitions, to build end-to-end solutions on an industry by industry basis. Our first industry is energy, where we're building solutions that can transform the world's largest industry.

At Ufora, you'll help build the state-of-the-art distributed computing framework, solve the most pressing data challenges on the planet, and stack up experiences so high you'll forget what you knew before joining.
