SpeakAgent Developer Role

#Django Developer

Are you looking to make a difference? How about building a new online platform that will impact the lives of millions of students around the world? We are looking for an ambitious Web developer who shares our vision of porting the open-source ethos to education. If this is you, get in touch now!

##Opportunity:

  • Join a close-knit startup team.
  • Build a groundbreaking platform that delivers free education resources to the whole world.
  • Create brand new features and subsystems.
  • Influence the product roadmap and vision.

##Requirements:

  • People constantly tell you that you’re too smart for your own good.
  • You can write clean, extensible Python and JavaScript even though you can’t write a letter to save your life.
  • Markup languages roll off your fingers without conscious thought. In fact, it’s better that way.
  • You pledge allegiance to Open-Source Education for All.
  • Uncle Sam has blessed you with a U.S. passport or green card. (Sorry we can’t sponsor H1-B visas.)
  • Bonus points if you have a fetish for world languages. Elvish and Klingon accepted.
  • Extra credit for prior teaching or mentoring experience. Playing GTA V with a younger sibling does not count as mentoring.
  • You have a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Media Production or related degree -- or equivalent work experience.

##Our Toolbox: Django, Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Git

##Perks:

  • Stock options
  • Relocation assistance for top candidates
  • Flex schedule, flex holidays
  • Right by Rockville Metro
  • Gold’s Gym membership (1 block away)
  • Commuter benefits plan
