  • Definition

    • Code: a word or short phrase that symbolicaly assign a summative, salient, essence-capturing, and evocative attibute data
    • Category: could be developed from similarity and regularity of codes
    • Memo: the theorizing write-up of ideas about codes and their relationships
    • Conatact sheet: contains data of contact, key concepts, link
    • Interim case analysis form: summary, explanations, disagreements, coding status

  • Coding concept; example of codes

    • summarize
    • action process
    • use participants' own
    • pattern in data (similarity, frequency, sequence, causation, correspondence)
    • multiple codes possibly to one text
    • people and organisation, activity, location, time
    • ideology, emotion, hierarchy
