You'll probably need this piece of code which adds premultiplied colors.
dest->pixel = (dest->pixel & 0x00ffffffU) | (alpha << 24);
I think you need to change this very line in dwm alpha patch: https://dwm.suckless.org/patches/alpha/dwm-alpha-20201019-61bb8b2.diff
yes thanks, thats true, I already tried it.
It fixes the white background but unfortunately it makes other parts of my bar also transparent.
But I think thats a problem of my configuration, because I have bloated up my dwm with status2d and taggrid patches...
I just copied the st-code and renamed some variables ("c" to "dest") and thats it... so I thought I'm missing something, to just apply it to the background, but I think I have to look in the code of my patches again..
So for vanilla-dwm it should work (maybe..) ...thanks again!!
You are welcome!
Hello,
thank you! I have given up on this issue time ago.
unfortunately I have same problem with dwm as you mentioned in your reddit post, and I also have no clue whats happening.
Do you also have a solution for the dwm-issue or an idea how to solve it?
thanks again, greetings from munich
