I was thinking to organize an Hacker School here in Europe and I am looking if any body is interested.

What is Hacker School:

Why

Here in Europe we don't have anything like that, but I think that it is a really cool idea and that we can definitely emulate something similar here, software development is not only in the Silicon Valley or in New York.

Such school will be a very good way to improve our skill of programmers, and, if it works, it may also be a very nice opportunities for every developer here in Europe.

Honestly it is just something really cool to have without the need to move in New York.

Philosophy

I would like to base the HS Europe not on profit, it should be something a little more based on giving back what the open source community gave to you.

However if profit comes out...

So What ?

Here I am looking for comments, ideas, help and anything.

There are a bunch of "problems" to figure out before to start to even think about something like that:

1. Location, where we should do that ? Why?
2. Mentors, mentors are definitely necessary in the school, volunteer ? You want to be paid ? If yes, how much?
3. Money, to run the school we will need money, how we get that?
4. Sponsor, to get the money we may help ourselves with some sponsor, somebody is interested to sponsor us?

Any ideas ? Comments ? Thoughts ?

Location: could it be itinerant?
Mentors: Travel/accommodation at least would be great. If mentoring is full-time for several days/weeks then some payment should be due.
Money: from the EU?

I think the profit model for the HS NYC is providing a good recruiting channel for both the graduates and companies.
