The efforts to emberize the website began about 3years ago. We were ambitious in how we went about this.

So far we've migrated,

Each of these apps got major overhaul when we built them. Versioning content was a major differentiator that we introduced as we worked on some of these apps.

As we built these apps, fastboot, prember & other tech emerged & we incorporated them as we saw fit so that we had apps that the community can refer to. We were also tackling major uplift of the website too. Also almost 90% of these efforts were done in the last 1.5yrs.

What I find most facinating is that almost all of these apps were owned & completed by members of the community who were new to open source at the time they contributed to these apps. In fact getting involved in the API docs revamp is how I began my journey to eventually become part of the learning team.

I believe we've crossed some of the hardest parts so far. I would categorize the remaining parts of our website as blog & everything else. We now have proven patterns to finish off these remaining migrations.

We have gained momentum over the last year with influx of contributors without whom we couldn't have done any of these projects. With continuous support from the community, I'm sure we can migrate the rest of the site by end of the year.

For anyone who's reading this, please consider this as invite to join us in these efforts. We're a friendly bunch. This could be your first step into open source, we'll make sure that it's an interesting one & we'll be there all the way to guide you through this.
