The ICM-20602 and Barometer seem to be working on the dev board, and we'll post further updates about the progress.<br>
<br>
The Yolo H7 will be test flown first after we've confirmed that everything is working on the bench.<br>
<br>
The HypaWhoop will require more work because of the higher complexity (added VTx and ELRS).<br>
<br>
Each FC's design files will be published after their respective test flight(s), just like we did for the F7 FCs. Design flaws that we find on the way will be included as well.<br>

Again thanks a lot for recent donations! The ongoing support means a lot to us, especially since things are taking so long.<br>

We're looking into ways to support them and ordered a couple more PCBs for the chonker (our H735 dev FC). It required less rework than the previous (F7) Yolos, but has a serious error in the schematic for the MCU's power supply. We were able to fix that on the prototype by removing a pad beneath the BGA (see picture). The HypaWhoop will need the same fix, and the to-be-published design files will be corrected.<br>

After that, we were able to compile simply blinky code into BF to see if the microcontroller basically works - and it does. It even shows up in BF configurator. However, BF doesn't really support the H735 yet (or H723, H725 and H733), so we're working with the BF devs to develop a debugging-friendly flight controller for them to bring the MCU target forward. We didn't test fly it yet, because we don't have suitable parts to build a quad around this FC. With leftovers from past builds, we were able to put together a 3" toothpick around the Yolo and take it for a ride.<br>

Next on the list is the Yolo F7 2-6S. Since it just has a different voltage regulator for 5V, it shouldn't cause too much trouble apart from some electronics rework that needs to be done (some missing parts and some soldering defects - nothing serious that we didn't have to do on the 1-3S variant as well).<br>

It's a betafpv 900 MHz nano, and I have a transmitter with an R9M lite module flashed with ExpressLRS 3.1.1.<br>

Telemetry shows 7.5 V for the battery voltage in the attached picture - so everything works! Longer story: we had routed each ESC MCU's UART (both Tx and Rx) to the main MCU, hoping that we could use the ESC MCU's pre-installed UART bootloader via serialpassthrough to softserial. That didn't work, but we have access to the C2 programming interface as well. That worked. All ESCs run bluejay and talk to the main MCU via bidirectional DShot.<br>
<br>
We could also spin up a motor with each ESC, so it's now basically ready for a little hover test. However, we still have to attach a receiver, and a few on-board features still remain untested:<br>
- OSD<br>
- barometer<br>
- GPS.<br>
Again, the GPS will come last.<br>

We separated and flashed the Yolo F7 1-3S and got some on-board features to work without any complications:<br>
- 3V3 and 5V rails are ok,<br>
- IMU,<br>
- Blackbox logging,<br>
- battery voltage and current sensing,<br>
- LEDs!<br>
Barometer and GPS are not soldered on yet, so they couldn't be tested. OSD is configured, but we didn't attach a camera yet so that will have to wait a bit as well.<br>

Next on the list is ESC flashing. We'll get that done in the coming days - currently waiting for C2 programmer hardware because the highly experimental bootloading-over-serialpassthrough-to-softserial idea wasn't successful. We'll have another look at that later.<br>
<br>

We inspected the board, found some assembly errors (stray and missing parts) and fixed them. Two things are still missing:<br>
- Barometer (will be added next)<br>
- GPS (will be added when everything else is working)<br>

An initial power-up didn't release any magic smoke. The board was supplied with 4V, and pulled around 110...120 mA after startup. 5V and 3V3 rails and MCU core voltage measure ok. It seems to be fit for flashing now. The plan:<br>
- configure a betaflight target,<br>
- flash it<br>
- check sensors (IMU, Baro, voltage and current measurements<br>
- check blackbox flash<br>
- other little bits and pieces.<br>

Then we can head on to flashing and testing the ESCs on this FC. After that, we'll proceed with the next FC (Yolo F7 2-6S, Yolo H7 2-6S, or HypaWhoop - we haven't yet decided which one will be next).<br>

Since assembly was so expensive, we had to update our funding goal. That's good news. <br>

However, we had errors in the paste layer that required cleaning the PCBs and parts from paste, and setting everything up again. In the attached picture you can see that mainly 0201 parts are missing. We also had many parts on cut tape. Both factors together increased assembly cost way beyond what we expected.<br>

We have reached our funding goal, so a big thank you goes out to all supporters and donors. We have ordered and received all parts for a small batch of flight controllers.<br>

PCBs are also ordered, and scheduled to be finished in early March (2022).<br>
