Settings I used to export a video file to three formats, for use in <video>
H.264
Scan Progressive
Target Bitrate 1.00 Mbps
Max Bitrate 3.00 Mbps
Resolution 2560x1440
FPS 30
Encoding VBR (2-pass)
Audio None
Size: 5.1 MB
Ogg Theora
Bitrate 750 kb/s
Resolution 2560x1440

Encoding VBR (2-pass)

Size: 2.2 MB
WebM (VP9)

Despite having the smallest file size, the WebM video had the fewest compression artifacts and noticeably smoother playback.

Included in this order: type="video/webm", type="video/ogg", type="video/mp4"
