Instead of repeating the same email over-and-over, I wanted to keep a list of resources for those looking for technology jobs/opportunities/etc in Charlottesville. Please feel free to fork/comment/email me with suggestions/improvements.

Local Technology Groups

Charlottesville Based

NeonGuild

A very wide swath of technologists/tech interested. A big part of this community is networking and people finding jobs. Technology talks are broad enough to reach a fairly general audience.

BeCraft

Probably the most "hard core" group. The talks here tend to be more advanced and oriented pretty heavily towards senior-level developers. A great group if you want to hone your craft.

HackCville

HackCville is an entrepreneurship clubhouse that mixes students and townies. Its a fantastic place to cowork and network with entreprenuers of every age.

CoworkCville

CoworkCville is a group that gets together Fridays to cowork at various locations around Charlottesville. If you work at home and occasionally want to work with others, check it out.

First Wednesdays

First Wednesdays is a fun time to socialize and network after work on Wednesdays at South Street Brewery. Blow off some steam or come and get to know the community a little better.

Central VA Javascript Group, CVJS

CVJS is probably the most active meetup group in Charlottesville.

Richmond Based

RVA Data Hackers

From data science to software engineering. If you are a data scientist or a software engineer that works on very data-centric applications, this would be a great group for you.

Conferences

BeCamp.

BeCamp is a cross cutting technology unconference that occurs annually in Charlottesville in the Fall. It tends to be the largest gathering of Charlottesville tech folks. A great place to go if you're looking to network or find a job.

BeSwarm.

BeSwarm is more of a one-day hackathon. A bit less session oriented, a bit more work on something and show-it-off. Or just come by and socialize.

I agree with that Andrew guy.

@andrewroycarter thanks. I intended this to be general information, not really a job board (as that would get out of date fast). WillowTree should be in one of those lists of companies above.

I wasn't paying attention and didn't see this was a Gist. I put some updates in, available at my fork, here: https://gist.github.com/webkunoichi/4d3b01939f489f0f7409 I was going to issue a pull request, but, not a full repo. (Look, it's been a long month.)

Feel free to grab them, and I'll delete my version. No reason to have two of these floating around.
