Me ha ei plen me kalle tun ifrå låva og burtåt bu'n
We have a lawn that we call "the yard" from the barn and over to the shed
Der slå me graset av og te, ljå'n æ frå sekstitre
We mow the lawn now and then, the schythe is from '63
Men i fjor vart graset nåkso langt, far min fann 'kji bryne
But last year the grass got pretty long, my dad didn't find the wetstone
Og mor mi sprang og masa støtt: Nei, no må'ru klyppe plen!
And my mom ran got on his nerves: You'll have to mow the lawn!
Dermed kjøpte'n ein Jonsered, ein bevæpna, flat moped
And therfore he bought a Jonsered (Producer of lawnmowers), and armed flat moped
Den starta med eit byks og eit jævlig brak. Detta der va ein skummel sak!
It started with a jump and a fucking loud boom, this was a scary thing!
Og so barst det te so spruten stod. Far min prøvde halde
And then it went loose so the dirt was spraying. My dad tried to hold on
Det gikk so kvist og småstein fauk, i ei sky tå blå eksos!
It went so branches and small stones flew, in a cloud of blue exhaust!
No æ plen som ein skamklypt sau
Now the lawn looks like a badly sheared sheep
No æ katta te nabo'n dau | |
Now the neighbours cat's dead
No æ venstre skotupp tå | |
Now the left shoe tip is gone
No æ naggel'n på fingen blå
Now the nail on his hand is blue
No æ far min klar te slå | |
Now my dad's ready to hit/mow (word play, slå could be both to hit someone or to mow as in mow the lawn)
Kor pokkern æ're bremsa sit, gaula far min so redd og kvit
Where the hell are the breaks, screamed my dad so scared and white
Det small tå stål imot ein stein. Syste mi sat og grein
There was a bang of steel against a rock, my sister sat there crying
Men so fekk 'n meirsom vridd'n te beint mot låveveggji
Somehowe he managed to wriggle it on, straight towards the barn wall
Det vart ein kraftig kollisjon, og alt bråket stilna åv
There was a loud collision, and all the noise calmed down
No æ far min klar te slå | |
Now my dad's ready to hit/mow (word play, slå could be both to hit someone or to mow as in mow the lawn)
