This
sources.list
addition can be installed under/etc/apt/sources.list.d/
for accessing the Ubuntu upstream src packages in Debian package format -- e.g. viaapt-get src
. Note however that this may cause some overlap with existing deb-src repositories in a host's sources.list configurationThe sources.list as provided is configured for using US mirrors. For generating a similar
sources.list
with other mirrors selected, see also: Ubuntu Sources List GeneratorFor facilitating a manner of trusted source package access onto the upstream Ubuntu source package repositories, one may add any appropriate public key files to the local apt-key configuration, e.g:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv-keys 40976EAF437D05B5 3B4FE6ACC0B21F32
On event of error during key import, see also: How to fix the Ubuntu GPG Error BADSIG (Cached)
If
http_proxy
is set in the environment of the running process, gpg will use the value ofhttp_proxy
when retrieving the corresponding public key data. This gist is also available via the URL http://j.mp/gist-ubuntu-src
