Betaworks, New York, NY
  Owned Ops and played a vital role in architecting, testing and putting into service 
  products like Dots - iPhone game, Giphy, Poncho, Instapaper, Blend.io, Rushmore.fm, 
  alphaworks.net and the list goes on. Setup scripted, config managed and replicable 
  environments for all the companies - which needed minimal human intervention.

  Fast paced environment - working with young companies who get bursts of high traffic 
  with varying requirements - as stacks and architecture continually changes.

Bitly Inc, a realtime analytics company in New York, NY

  Helped manage their cloud and co-located infrastructure with an aim to cut operational 
  costs whilst maintaining a highly available infrastructure. We run an entirely CentOS/RHEL server base. 
  Scripted and automated many redundant tasks. The sheer amount of data that bitly possessed
  and had flowing through its systems was a challenge and learning opportunity in itself.

Knewton Inc, an e-learning company based in New York, NY 

  Joined Knewton as their first Systems focused engineer. Since their core business 
  involved live online classroom with teachers streaming their sessions in real time,
  I started off setting up their internal infrastructure that included Wireless, Switches, 
  DNS, DHCP, OpenLDAP, RADIUS, Link Balancing, File Share Shares, Backups and all the other 
  fun tasks associated with setting up and running an internal IT infrastructure from scratch.

  Also managed their cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS) – including EC2, S3, ELB, DNS, 
  automating redundant tasks, writing scripts to launch servers, managing Domain name 
  accruals and renewals, DNS record keeping, active failover management using DNS, load balancing, 
  reverse proxy maintenance (nginx), apache web server maintenance and other tasks as needed.

Flint Hill School, a private K-12 school in the DC metro area

  Came in to help them transition to a 100% Macintosh shop. Lead and mentored teams to train 
  everyone and make them comfortable with the new platform.

  Setup Microsoft Exchange 2010 and migrated all mailboxes from Groupwise 7. Also setup Blackberry 
  Enterprise Server (BES), Terminal Services, SSL VPN.

University of Maryland at College Park

  Was the founding member of their Student Help Desk group (a peer to peer IT support network). 
  Helped maintain Active Directory records and administer MS Exchange. Helped with other 
  common Software and Hardware troubleshooting.
