Template Emails for Recruitment Questions
<Name>,
The first step I recommend is to have interested parties watch an introductory screencast video which explains the Recruitment application and its features. You can find that video here: https://secure.caes.ucdavis.edu/help/Help/WatchVideo/4?appName=Recruitment.
When you are finished watching the video, email recruitments@caes.ucdavis.edu and you'll be given access to our Recruitment test site, which looks exactly like the real thing (but with fake data), and you can play around with the system functionality. This includes things like creating positions, applying to them as imaginary applicants, emailing, reports, committees, etc. After a while once you are comfortable with the system I'll give you access to the production system under your departments only (note: there can be any number of people given access, and each can have multiple departments). Also, if this is a department who hasn't used the Recruitment system before I'll get a customized image (and other optional styling) which will be displayed as "branding" for your position recruitments.
That's pretty much the process, except sometimes we'll give a "lead" member of that department full admin access to the system so they have the ability to grant others access autonomously and can even accept their own positions (instead of asking an existing admin to vet them).
If you have any questions, please email recruitments@caes.ucdavis.edu. Thanks,
Scott
<Name>,
I've added you the test recruitments site at https://test.caes.ucdavis.edu/Recruitment/. Note that in this test version of the website I made you all Administrators, which gives access to all departments and positions. In the production system, only your own department would be available and you would also be able to use a custom logo for position advertisements. Please feel free to create your own positions, committees, reports, etc. You could also create a regular user account and go through the program as an applicant, applying to a position that you created in order to get a feel for the process.
The following are some actions to try out:
• Admin functions:
• Create a new position / modify an existing position
• View a List of all active, pending and closed positions
• Review a user’s application
• Send a reminder email to an applicant (to yourself)
• Create an application list
• Manage your committee list and memberships
• Generate Reports
• Upload files on behalf of an applicant
• User functions [Note, user accounts do not use Kerberos Ids and require creation of a separate account]:
• View a list of positions and their positions descriptions
• Apply to a position
This is by no means an exhaustive list of everything to try, but simply the more important ones that are central to the program’s functionality. Feel free to experiment with the program until you are comfortable with it. If you want to see a video overview of the system, there is one available at https://secure.caes.ucdavis.edu/help/Help/WatchVideo/4?appName=Recruitment.
Lastly, feel free to email me with any questions you have along the way and I will do my best to get them answered. Thanks,
Scott
