This resource is intended to connect hiring managers with organizations who are working to ensure brilliant folks from underrepresented groups land incredible jobs at companies that will provide them a psychologically safe space to learn and grow.

Communities and programs supporting underrepresented groups in tech

  • The Collab lab: The Collab Lab exists to help early-career developers, especially ones from historically excluded groups, land that first job in tech. We do that by providing remote, collaborative project practice where developers are mentored by professionals in the field. We augment the project work with targeted career advice and feedback to help developers get and do well in tech interviews.
  • Techqueria: a nonprofit that serves the largest global community of Latinx professionals in tech who are on a mission is to empower Latinx professionals with the resources and support that they need to thrive and become leaders in the tech industry.
  • Tech By Choice: a non-profit organization that hosts events and workshops that help people of marginalized communities find their place within the tech industry. With over 1000 members, we’ve hosted events that have helped over 690 participants build the skills they need to find their dream job in STEAM fields.
  • Tech4All Foundation: a foundation on a mission to help veterans, youth and other marginalized communities find a pathway into technology.
  • Laboratoria: empowers women who dream of a better future to start and grow a transformative career in technology. They connect bootcamp graduates with companies and have become a key partner in sourcing diverse technology talent for hundreds of organizations.
  • VetsWhoCode: non-profit organization that focuses on training veterans, active-duty military, and military spouses in practical programming paradigms by using mentoring and open-source development as the primary focus with the goal of starting careers in the technology industry.
  • Underdog Devs: We are a group of software engineers helping aspiring developers who are either formerly incarcerated or from an economically disadvantaged background.
  • Equalithon: Become a sponsor for these hackathons that are dedicated to addressing issues related to inequality in the workplace, as well as social and environmental challenges.
  • Hack The Hood: a nonprofit organization that introduces low-income youth to careers in technology by hiring and training them to build websites for small businesses in their own communities.
  • Lesbians Who Tech: a community of LGBTQ women, non-binary and trans individuals in and around tech working together to sharpen technical and leadership skills and learn from experts in engineering, design, product management, A.I. and more.
  • Techtonica: Techtonica partners with tech companies to provide free tech training, living stipends, and job placement to women and non-binary, feminine-adjacent adults in need in the Bay Area.
  • Trans*H4CK: focuses on creating technology to empower the transgender community.
  • S#E: fosters diversity and inclusion in technology and entrepreneurship, by providing an open and safe community for under-represented demographics to explore their interests and potential.

Job boards for diverse talent in tech

  • Diversify Tech: A collection of resources, including jobs boards, for underrepresented people in tech.
  • POCIT: matches companies with people of color in technology.
  • TechLadies: connecting companies to a community of 100,000 engineers, data scientists, designers, product managers, marketers.
  • Women in Technology: a community of women in tech that lists technology jobs of interest to WIT members in the DC metropolitan area.
  • BlackTechPipeline: Connecting Black technologists to great companies.
  • Out & Equal: Out & Equal is the premier organization working exclusively on LGBTQ workplace equality. Through our worldwide programs, Fortune 500 partnerships and our annual Workplace Summit conference, we help LGBTQ people thrive and support organizations creating a culture of belonging for all.
  • Hackbright Academy: bootcamp that has graduated 1,000+ women and gender-diverse engineers from different backgrounds, socioeconomic classes, and ethnicities, who have entered the workforce at 100+ tech companies.
  • mothercoders: a technology training program that is expanding the tech talent pool by activating women with college degrees and work experience who are ready to contribute -- mothers.
  • Society of Women Engineers: empowers women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders; expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.

  • WomenHack: promotes gender equality in tech and helps people get hired at companies committed to diversity in the workplace
