Dear Steve,

I'm currently preparing a follow-up to my last piece on the strangeloop controversy, and I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions.

Firstly, what specifically do you object to in Curtis Yarvin aka Mencius Moldbug's writings?

Secondly, you are on record as being "100% okay" with violence towards "fascists in tech", including Yarvin, Andrew Auernheimer aka Weev and GamerGate supporters. Do you stand by those comments, and if so can you elaborate on why?

His efforts to legitimize slavery.

Secondly, you are on record as being "100% okay" with violence towards "fascists in tech", including Yarvin, Andrew Auernheimer aka Weev and GamerGate supporters.

I have not called for violence against any person and do not condone it.

I believe hate speech is violence. I support communities defending themselves against violence. Examples of hate speech:

  • Curtis Yarvin's written efforts to legitimize slavery.
  • Andrew Auernheimer's public identification with Nazi symbolism.
  • GamerGate's harassment of individuals.
