game-time feedback conversation

How did you prepare for the conversation? Reflecting over the project and how each person participated in the project

I prepared by making a list of things that went well during the project, as well as aspects that could be improved upon. For the aspects that could be improved, I examined what I had written for any negative connotations, for when we spoke in person, keeping in mind any non-verbal ques that might change the perception of my intentions.

How did the conversation go for you? What was easy about the conversation? What was more difficult?

Appreciation is always easier, I expect. For us, it was me telling my partner that I really appreciated her positive outlook that kept me balanced when I felt overwhelmed at the beginning. This project was pretty stressful for me personally, and I had a fair amount of dread how I would handle the aspects in the conversation in a positive way. Instead of saying to my partner, "you should admit when you don't know something," I instead phrased it, "In future projects, please ask for clarification when we receive help."

What principles of feedback did you use in the conversation?

Appreciation followed by Coaching, and trying to be very aware of non-verbal ques during the actual conversation.
