##DTR Memo ##Project: Black Thursday ##Group Member Names: Raphael Barbo, Susi Irwin

###Project Expectations: What does each group member hope to get out of this project? Goals and expectations:

  • Parsing through CSV files comfortably
  • Handling the data once we can read it
  • Being able to answer BI questions with the data available
  • Working with Hashes well and thoroughly
  • Get even more comfortable working in a pair - in person and remotely

###Schedule Expectations: When are we available to work together and individually?

  • Susi - Tuesdays I need to leave the basement by 540.
  • We can both do mornings at 630
  • Cut off by 7pm each night
  • Weekends we can meet in Denver at 1030 on Weekend and stop by 5pm

###Communication Expectations: How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open?

  • Github comments are required - no pushes, no pull requests without descriptions.
  • Never push your own pull request.
  • We would both prefer in-person pairing. If we need supplemental time, Slack works and so does Screen Hero.

###Abilities Expectations: Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement:

  • Susi has some background on Data Analysis.
  • Raphael has done headcount in the past so he has some understanding of how to parse the files and get the information.
  • Susi would like to work on breaking down problems into smaller pieces and focusing on those parts one at a time.
  • Raphael would like to get more comfortable with hashes.

###Workload Expectations: What features do we each want to work on?

  • We want to share the workload and avoid divide & concur especially in the beginning.
  • If we need to divide at the end, we will revisit this.

###Workflow Expectations: Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests:

  • Comments and descriptions are required
  • Never merge your own pull request
  • Commit - often!
  • Use Branches
  • Tools - Atom, Terminal, Waffle.io, Slack, Screen Hero, Pairing Stations, White Board

###Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

  • In Person is best.
  • Bring up issues as soon as they happen.
  • Walks as breaks and for conversations if needed.

###Agenda to discuss project launch:

  • Let’s start on Monday after school.
  • Read the Spec
  • Build a few tests for Iteration 0
  • Set up the base for Waffle.io
  • Not focus on Code, just overall starting point

###Ideas:

  • One step at a time
  • Let’s set milestones(timeline) for Iterations
  • Iteration 0 - By Wednesday
  • Iteration 3 by Sunday

###Tools:

  • Tools - Atom, Terminal, Waffle.io, Slack, Screen Hero, Pairing Stations, White Board

###Additional Notes:

  • Going to ask Mark Miranda to go over Waffle with us.
