THIS HAPPENS WITH ALSO OTHER FOOTNOTES PLUGIN from Wordpress.org.
Possibly something to do with a version of wordpress itself? My version is 4.4.2

in easy-footnotes.php:104 I tried adding an array_unique. That doesn't seem to quite fix the issue too. The footnotes went from 3 to 2 duplicate ones.
