I signed up for an account solely to thank you for posting this, I HATE that sidebar and couldn't figure out how to get the cosmetic filtering just right. This works perfectly.

This is great. Thanks for sharing.

I had to open the Ublock Origin dashboard and add these lines to "my filters" section.
